georgette power (b. 1987) benjamin moukarzel lives and works in bordeaux, france, under the pseudonym georgette power. a graduate of école des beaux-arts de bordeaux in 2010, moukarzel began to explore the notion of space through video while pursuing sculptural practice. his current work includes videos, writings, animated gifs, photographs, digital drawings and sporadic objects.
moukarzel participated in collective exhibitions in bordeaux at espace mably (2010), bourse du travail (2011), frac aquitaine (2012) and jardin public (2014). he was also a participant of the biennale wiesbadener fototage in wiesbaden, germany (2011) and iii european conference on multilingualism in rome, italy (2012).
in 2013, he created a video installation based on his observation of loop-playing videos in art spaces at artothèque de pessac. he also participated in residency programs in toronto during summer 2008 as part of research program with le labo and toronto arts council; and in dordogne, france, in 2011 with agence culturelle dordogne-périgord where the program addressed the question of the endangered languages of the south of france.
