rachel dedman (b.1989, london) is an independent curator and writer based in lebanon. rachel is currently curating beirut-based exhibitions for the palestinian museum (ramallah) and apexart (new york), as winner of latter’s franchise exhibition open call 2014/15. she is curator-in-residence at 98weeks (beirut). rachel is working on writing and editorial projects with the mosaic rooms, apeal and medical aid for palestinians, and has been published by ibraaz, culture+conflict, artdiscover and the journal of art historiography. she holds a first-class degree in the history of art from st. john's college, oxford, and was the von clemm postgraduate fellow at harvard university, where she specialised in contemporary art from the middle-east. rachel was a participant of ashkal alwan’s home workspace program, 2013/14, and has been awarded scholarships to develop her practice by independent curators international, cimam and the getty foundation.
