ravish momin is an indian-born drummer, currently residing in nyc. he cannot be put in a box: he's worked with a broad range of artists, from avant-garde tenor-saxophone legend kalaparusha maurice mcintyre (co-founder of the legendary association for the advancement of creative musicians- aacm, in the 1960s) to pop-star shakira, while also touring heavily with his own trio, tarana, an avant-world-electronica improv group. he has worked with avant-jazz greats such as sabir mateen, peter epstein, brad shepik, william parker, billy bang, susie ibarra, kenny wolleson and jim black but has also worked with hip-hop artists iswhat?,and toured with the up-and-coming rock band fulton lights. his music is available on cleanfeed, delmark, nubop, cimp, entropy stereo, and blueregard record labels. momin has performed widely at festivals and clubs all across the us and europe as well as china, taiwan, japan, mexico and canada.
