serge teyssot-gay born in saint-étienne, france. he gained prominence as the guitar player of noir désir, one of the most famous french rock bands of the 90’s and 2000’s. following the dissolution of noir désir in 2010, he became active with trio “zone libre” (with guitar player marc sens and drummer cyril bilbeaud), and duo “interzone” (with syrian oud player khaled al-jaramani). teyssot-gay has also set literary texts to music, working with the writings of georges hyvernaud, lydie salvayre, bernard wallet, attila józsef, stig dagerman, vladimir mayakovsky, allen ginsberg, krzysztof styczynski and michel bulteau, among others. he has worked with french painter paul bloas on a performance for painting and guitar entitled “ligne de front”, and with double bass player joëlle léandre since january 2012.
